GenShoah SWFL is a group for children of Holocaust Survivors and those interested in our mission: promotion of Holocaust education and human rights, preservation of history and memories of the Holocaust, and the connection of the Second Generation and Third Generation with one another and support of the Holocaust Museum & Janet G. and Harvey D. Cohen Education Center (HMCEC.)

Our programs are funded by HMCEC and donations. To support GenShoah programs, please make a tax-deductible donation to "HMCEC" and designate "For GenShoah." If you are not already a member HMCEC, please consider becoming one.  For more information, e-mail genshoahswfl@hmcec.org.

Portraits of Remembrance Project

The Portraits of Remembrance Project preserves for future generations the important stories of GenShoah SWFL members’ parents and grandparents. These stories appear on the HMCEC website, in its monthly newsletter, and hopefully one day bound into a book available for sale benefitting Museum Education Programs. If you are interested in submitting a story, please e-mail genshoahswfl@hmcec.org. Stories should be written for a middle school audience, contain 500-700 words, appropriate geographical and accurate historical references, a personal highlight and photograph. The stories may be in book format and/or virtual.

Click on the names below to see some of the stories recently submitted. Our thanks to the 2G GenShoah SWFL members who submitted them:
