GenShoah SWFL and the Museum are co-sponsoring the film.
A little known and inspirational film is DEFIANT REQUIEM, a story that takes place in the Nazi concentration camp, Terezin. Led by imprisoned conductor Rafael Schächter, the inmates of Terezin fought back against their captors-not with guns but with art and music. Even in the face of horrible conditions, hunger and disease, the Jewish inmates of Terezin, many of whom were artists, musicians and writers, managed to hold onto their humanity by composing operas, staging plays, writing about the horrors taking place.
